Making its first appearance in in 2015 and performing for almost a decade, Hamilton took Broadway by storm bringing a innovative approach. From Ron Chernow’s book about Alexander Hamilton, we learn the life story of Alexander Hamilton’s early years and journey to one of the Founding Fathers of the USA. A unique story that is both founded in truth and political, Hamilton is still to this day hailed as revolutionary in its storytelling and has left its mark on politics, culture, and our youth.
Written by American composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film, also writing the music and lyrics for his former Broadway play In the Heights, another Tony award-winning production, and is also the creator of music and lyrics in popular musical films such as Moana. This hit Broadway musical, featuring a mixed cast, has showtunes in a style that blends new genres like hip-hop, jazz, R&B and more, which has made Hamilton all the more revolutionary and exciting by bringing these genres to the Broadway stage. Showtunes such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have been considered as top-rated memorable songs from the musical since its Broadway release.
